Recognised the world over for showcasing British hairdressing at its very best, setting trends and developing the careers and profiles of many of the UK's hairdressing idols, the British Hairdressing Awards are a much-anticipated event in the hairdressing calendar, and every year hundreds of hairdressers nation-wide spend months putting together their entries in the hope of winning one of the 16 categories including 9 regional awards.

And in 2007, having submitted four stunning images which were judged by a distinguished panel of industry experts, Katrina Ashton and Michael Lewis of Headlines Elite has beaten off the competition and has been announced as a finalist for North Eastern Hairdresser of the Year. "I am so excited to have been shortlisted" Michael reveals. "The standard is so high and just to get this far is absolutely brilliant - every member of the Headlines Elite team has their fingers firmly crossed for me now!"
The awards night, which this year will be held on 26th November in the Great Room of the Grosvenor House Hotel, is the most glamorous and star-studded event in the hairdressing calendar.
